Ada Scalchi is a political and trade-union leader who has been active since adolescence in campaigns for workers’ rights. In the mid-1960s, she contributed to the establishment of the CGIL branch in Pomezia and subsequently assumed its leadership.
Throughout her career, she held several institutional positions, including Councillor for Tourism, Sport and Cultural Decentralization in the Province of Rome, Regional Councillor of Lazio, and, between 1988 and 1990, the first woman to serve as Mayor of Albano Laziale.
Her testimony provides valuable insight into the political and administrative context within which the activities of Genazzano Project developed.
